Science-Free Friday
Research is only part of what goes on aboard Healy. Right now three scientists are watching the Pixar hit Ratatouille in the science conference lounge—one of the movie selections being shown through the ship’s TV system this evening. A little while ago they ate dinner on the mess deck; later tonight they’ll go to sleep in their staterooms.
There are no days off for the science party. Work goes on 24 hours a day, seven days a week. But Healy is a big ship with a lot of people and a lot of life. In six weeks at sea, people need haircuts and meals and coffee, too.
