Three cheers for the red, white, and blue—but heavy on the white … bright white … as far as you can see … in all directions …all day. It was a day to celebrate, as the icebreaker Oden reached a site where strong evidence for hydrothermal venting was found six years ago. After traveling so far and waiting so long, the final days and nautical miles stretched out. Now the hunt for vents truly begins.
