Day 11, July 17, posted July 18, 2008
Photos and story by Chris Linder and the scientists and crew of Polar Discovery's Expedition 4
After 11 days of working, eating, and camping together, I've learned a lot about our science team. For example, Sarah owns nine boats, Ian hates stinky cheese, and Mark and Kristin are tied in the race for worst raccoon eyes (we all get white rings around our eyes where our goggles block the sun). For a change of pace today, I thought it would be interesting to have the team members write their own dispatch and give you their thoughts on what motivates them to study the ice, and what it's like to leave your family for a month.
