Role in the expedition?
I am the Chief Engineer, in charge of our underwater autonomous vehicles Puma and Jaguar, and the tethered vehicle CAMPER.
Favorite time at sea?
Sunrise and sunset - because they are the most beautiful and a lot of times one is awake for both.
Why I do what I do?
Because I love to push the limits of technology (Leonardo da Vinci is my hero) in areas that have strong relevance to society.
Where I grew up?
In India, all over the country, but mostly in the north on the foothills of the Himalayas.
Advice for kids who want to be oceanographers?
Work hard in the basic sciences and math and on learning to write well.
